Eat & Drink in Paris
There are so many restaurants in Paris that it’s worth knowing in advance where you should go. Whether you are looking for an original restaurant, a authentic typical French restaurant or a restaurant that offers luxury, Paris got it all! The districts of Paris are all different and that’s what you will also see in the restaurants. For a small cosy restaurant you should go to the le Marais district, but for a luxurious restaurant you should head towards le Champs Elysées. International cuisine, the Parisian traditional kitchen or a bite at a fancy nightclub.
When Paris chefs want to unwind they head for this little wine bar in Belleville where Argentine-born self-taught chef Raquel Carena serves up some of the most deeply satisfying food in Paris.
Les Arlots serves some of the best and most reasonably priced French comfort food in Paris. Chef Thomas Brachet’s chalkboard menu changes daily but offers an irresistible mix of contemporary dishes — like a salad of green beans, apricots, speck, and fresh almonds and John Dory meuniere with vegetable accras (beignets) — and traditional ones.
Chef Mathieu Pacaud’s resurrection of this luxury schooner of a restaurant on Les Invalides is so welcome. Not only does it have stunning winter-garden decor by Studio K.O., which also did the Chiltern Firehouse in London, but the €49 prix-fixe lunch menu is a terrific buy, and the similarly priced weekend brunch menu is excellent..
